Usage of Filler

Let’s take a look at this video first.

According to statistics, among all the factory orders, there are up to 17%  orders need to place  supplement orders due to wrong fillers, which results in a great waste of manpower and material resources because of the repeated work in production, transportation, installation and so on. Worse still, it will decrease customer’s satisfaction, leading to the loss of a large number of new customers which probably could introduce by old customers.

When must to add filler?

1. When cabinet one side or two sides against wall;

2. When cabinet is designed to be in a corner area;

3. When the back of arc-shape cabinet against wall;

4. Designer must add decorative/open panel or extend side panel for top unit open side.

Why there will be mistakes of filler?

● Type A: Pursuit of speed when designing, but forget to add filler.

Suggestion: Add filler first before designing cabinet, especially for places which against the all, back of the arc-shape cabinet and corner area.

● Type B: Use the first measurement notebook to do final measurement.

Suggestion: Print the dimension drawing of each room and final measurement details before final measurement. According to the standard process of final measurement to record related details.

● Type C: Chat with customer or do other things when doing final measurement.

Suggestion: Tell customer the importance of final measurement and will confirm with them after that.

● Type D: Only measure by one-point instead of several points for one room.

Suggestion: It is necessary to measure by 3-point if there is a full wall cabinet. Also need to double check that if the wall where the cabinet will be placed is straight or not.

Notes

 If the wall is uneven or the skirting can’t be removed, it is a must to add filler between the cabinet and the wall.
The width of filler should be at least 40 mm, which can be produced conveniently by the factory.

 If the wall is sloped, the width of filler should be,
(The max. width of the wall) - (the min. width of the wall) + 20mm (dimension reservation).
